Connecting everyone through conversational AI & Machine Learning

Marcel is an ongoing initiative for Publicis to create an internal platform that removes barriers and unleashes collaboration and connectivity between its employees. It aims to leverage AI and machine learning to connect all project and employee information so users can discover anything about a project, experienced employee or upcoming projects within the company.

Concepting a personality for an AI

At the launch of the project, there was so much that needed to be established. Functionality, content, accounts., platforms and so much more. From a creative perspective we really wanted to establish a strong tone and personality for what the AI aspect of Marcel could be. How the AI responds to questions and uses language would be essential to user comfort and establishing its personality. We started to use mood boards to help define how a personality could feel and influence the design language we would create for the interface.

The team was constantly coordinating with stakeholders and the other teams working on additional skills. Through our work to establish the functionality we started to iterate on the interface structure and styles.

During the 9 months we worked on the project we had many presentations and work sessions with the top leadership within Sapient and Publicis. We had several opportunities to bring all the teams together in the New York office and collaborate.
